SISTER C.

I’ve been living at the Chosen Heritage Refuge since the beginning of April and would not trade it for the world! It’s been a humbling experience for sure but also rewarding. I feel blessed everyday to be part of the Chosen Heritage Refuge ministry and work alongside some wonderful individuals I call my angels. They have helped me through a lot since I moved from Georgia.

We are making progress here planting trees and getting this 40-acre property ready for the crisis up ahead. Our projects at this moment are to put up 2 fences to protect our fruit trees and bushes from deer; to finish the ground and build 30 beds in the high tunnel and to get our community building erected. We’ve had a few hiccups along the way. Character development, right?! Yes. Teaching us that we are not in control and that God is. Teaching us patience, endurance, perseverance and resilience. Teaching us to be on our knees more…

Daily I claim 2 promises: Philippians 4:19 which says “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” and Romans 8:28 which reads “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Please pray for us as we continue to co-labor with God to prepare this safe haven and receive God’s children when the time comes. The fifth key of survival: assisting others who are less fortunate.

Thank you and may God bless you all!

My visit to the Chosen Heritage Refuge was beyond what I could imagine. I could not believe what I saw and I was totally shocked with the amount of progress made in such a short time. In a matter of three months, they had already erected a 130-foot high tunnel, planted over 100 orchard fruit trees, put foundations for buildings, paths and roads cut-ready for gravel and area allotted for RV sites. It was "unbelievable"! It looked like the work of 15 people but only 3 people were involved which showed that God's Hand was in it.

Chosen Heritage Refuge is so magnificent and I was stunned at the rate and scale of this project and how they followed all the instructions given. What I pray  for is loyal helping hands and that God continues to be with you. "I have never seen anyone take on a project of this magnitude and execute the practices/plan that were learned in my class.

Once I stepped on this property, I knew they were doing the work of the LORD 100% and were immersed in helping others. You did it  in a cost-effective way and set up all the processes correct from the very beginning. Only by God's grace will it go on.

The longer I stayed on this property, the more I could feel the peacefulness on this little piece of Heaven on earth. I did not want to go home.

It reminded me of a quote in Country Living page 18: those "who possess a piece of land and a comfortable home are kings and queens".

They successfully covered the whole gamut of true country living!

I am looking forward to assisting in any way possible to continue the work forward.

LOYAL HELPING HANDS

My experience at the Chosen Heritage Refuge was an experience that I have never had in my life; and one I don’t think this world could ever understand. I came to visit the refuge to be surrounded by friends whom I consider family, to learn about country living, the Ellen White method of planting trees, and to assist in getting the property ready for the great time before us. I never knew that our Lord Jesus Christ would be there working beside us every step of the way to get this work done.

Whether in the heat of the day or in the pouring rain, He supplied us with strength and endurance that I never knew we all had. We got filthy dirty and at times, soaking wet, yet the presence of Jesus was there. All of us were on one accord and the psalms and hymns that filled our hearts and souls could have only been because the Holy Spirit was in the midst. Not one murmur or complaint came from our lips, just words of gratitude, love, and appreciation to be able to experience this with each other. The praise to God continued even at the dinner table with great admiration and amazement for what we were able to accomplish from the strength of Jesus Christ.

I wish I could give a more accurate description of the feelings and experience that I had here, but you would have to experience it for yourself. To be surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation, seeing the crisp blue sky, experiencing true fellowship, and breathing in the fresh air, there is nothing like it in the world. God’s presence is definitely here!

I pray daily for the Lord to continue to bless Danielle and Greg with the humility of heart they have for their fellow brethren. They put the needs of others before theirs and that is a characteristic God looks and longs for in His people. I can’t wait to see the property when it is complete as the beginning of it is already so beautiful and peaceful. I did not want to leave but I could only be there for an appointed time. When we had to return home, sadness filled our hearts; and this brought me to think of Ellen White’s first vision in Early Writings:

And I saw a table of pure silver; it was many miles in length, yet our eyes could extend over it. I saw the fruit of the tree of life, the manna, almonds, figs, pomegranates, grapes, and many other kinds of fruit. I asked Jesus to let me eat of the fruit. He said, “Not now. Those who eat of the fruit of this land go back to earth no more. But in a little while, if faithful, you shall both eat of the fruit of the tree of life and drink of the water of the fountain.” And He said, “You must go back to the earth again and relate to others what I have revealed to you.” (EW 19.1)

As I worked, I would look up at the sky, and I saw myself to be so small. But I felt the Lord looking down on us all with a smile. When we needed a cool breeze, He would send it. When we needed cloud cover, we received it. When we needed strength, He gave it. When we needed to hear words of encouragement, He supplied them. I thank You, Lord for this experience and I am patiently waiting until You call me here again before Your Second Coming to take me home!
